The purpose of Northeast Ohio Chapter of the USGBC is to generate broad support for various individual efforts, build momentum, and advance the green building agenda in our region through education, consulation, and cooperation. Visit with the Case Western Reserve University sustainability, campus planning and facilities team members to learn not only how the University is greening their buildings but the rest of the their campus and its community as well. CWRU's Climate Action Plan visions the campus attaining carbon neutrality by 2050. The University boasts of serving over 30% local food in its dining halls, including produce from the University Farm that also feeds animals at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. CWRU is home to over 10,000 students as well as 30 big belly solar compactors dotted around campus. The University has been named on the Princeton Review's Green Guide every year since its inception in 2010. On this green building and campus sustainability tour we will visit the Village @ 115th housing complex (Gold and Silver), Tomlinson Hall (Silver), the new Field House (Silver application) and the Tinkham Veale University Center (Gold application) among many other stops. The Cleveland Museum of Art rarely opens their doors for a behind the scene look at what it takes to operate a world class art museum. Come learn about how they manage the property and the great efficiency projects CMA has accomplished recently. We will follow the tour with a networking happy hour on museum grounds. Wade Oval Wednesday begins at 6 PM on the oval with a free concert/food trucks.
